It was probably a work expense. Xeons aren’t really gaming chips, though they are just binned i7s. Either that, or he has no other hobbies.

As someone who builds high end machines, I can honestly say that he overpaid by a lot.

Lots of ways to cut costs, but Im glad someone has the money to piss away on that machine. About all it does is make his electricity bill go up by a measureable rate every month.
